Refund Policy

IndexCyborg is a digital service you can use the moment you pay, so purchases are final. This page sets out the few cases where we do refund, and how to ask.

IndexCyborg (indexcyborg.com) automates the search-indexing workflow for websites: sitemap discovery, IndexNow notifications, Google index monitoring, indexing requests and technical checks. Everything is delivered digitally and is available as soon as payment completes; no physical goods are supplied. This policy applies together with the Terms of Service, and reflects the rules consumer law sets for digital content and services supplied immediately on purchase.

1. All sales are final

All purchases on indexcyborg.com are final, subject only to the exceptions in section 6 and to any rights that cannot lawfully be excluded where you live. Once your plan or page pack is active, you are not entitled to a refund except as this policy states.

Where the law lets a statutory right of withdrawal or cancellation be waived for digital content or services supplied immediately, we rely on that to the fullest extent permitted. Before buying, please read the features, pricing and FAQ pages, and remember that IndexCyborg cannot guarantee that search engines will index any page (see Terms, section 3).

2. EU and EEA customers: waiver of the right of withdrawal

If you are a consumer in the European Union or the European Economic Area, you may ordinarily have a 14-day right of withdrawal from distance contracts under Directive 2011/83/EU on consumer rights. Under Article 16(m) of that Directive, the right does not apply to digital content not supplied on a tangible medium once performance has begun with your prior express consent and your acknowledgement that you thereby lose the right of withdrawal.

By completing a purchase, you expressly and unambiguously:

  1. ask IndexCyborg to begin performing the contract immediately and to give you access to the Service as soon as payment completes; and
  2. acknowledge that, by doing so, you lose your 14-day right of withdrawal under EU consumer law.

This consent is a condition of the purchase. If you don't give it, don't complete the checkout.

3. UK customers: waiver of the right of cancellation

If you are a consumer in the United Kingdom, you may ordinarily have a 14-day right of cancellation under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013. Under Regulation 37, that right ends for digital content not supplied on a tangible medium once performance has begun, if you gave your prior express consent and acknowledged that the right would be lost.

By completing a purchase, you expressly and unambiguously:

  1. ask IndexCyborg to start supplying the Service immediately when payment completes; and
  2. acknowledge that you lose your 14-day right of cancellation under the 2013 Regulations.

This consent is a condition of the purchase. If you don't give it, don't complete the checkout.

4. US customers

Under US federal law and the laws of most states, there is no general statutory right to a refund for digital services once delivered. This policy's no-refund rule applies to US customers except in the cases in section 6.

5. Australian customers

If you are in Australia, you have rights under the Australian Consumer Law (Schedule 2 of the Competition and Consumer Act 2010). Nothing in this policy excludes, restricts or modifies those rights where doing so would be unlawful. You may be entitled to a refund for a major failure, such as a confirmed technical fault on our side, as set out in section 6.

Search engines declining to crawl, index or rank your pages is not a failure of the Service. IndexCyborg automates the indexing workflow; it does not and cannot guarantee indexing or rankings.

6. When we refund

Despite the general rule in section 1, we may refund in these specific cases.

6.1 Verified technical fault

If you are wholly unable to use the Service because of a confirmed fault on our side, and we can't fix it within a reasonable time after you report it, you may get a full refund, or a partial one in proportion to the access you lost. Report faults promptly to hi@indexcyborg.com; our team has to verify them. Faults caused by your own device, browser, network or third-party software are excluded, and so are changes, limits or outages of third-party services such as Google Search Console or IndexNow (see Terms, section 6).

6.2 Accidental duplicate charge

If a payment-processing error charged you more than once for the same plan period or page pack, we refund the duplicate in full once verified. Please include evidence such as a bank or card statement.

6.3 Mandatory statutory rights

Where mandatory consumer law requires a refund or other remedy, we honour it in full.

7. When we don't refund

Unless mandatory law requires otherwise, none of these qualifies for a refund:

  • having used the Service, in whole or in part, before asking for a refund;
  • search engines not crawling, indexing or ranking your pages, or doing so more slowly than you hoped, including rejected or ignored IndexNow notifications and indexing requests;
  • Google's quotas, the Request indexing cap, or changes to Google Search Console, IndexNow or other third-party services;
  • incompatibility caused by your device, browser, operating system, network or website setup;
  • forgetting to cancel a subscription before it renews;
  • pages in a page pack that you haven't used, or pages used by URLs the Service found on your sites;
  • changing your mind after purchase;
  • not reading the features, pricing, FAQ or terms before buying;
  • a purchase made for someone else without their authorisation;
  • requests made more than 7 days after the purchase date, unless mandatory law gives a longer period. The only exception is a verified technical fault that first appears after those 7 days, which must be reported within 7 days of its first occurrence.

8. Subscriptions and page packs

8.1 Billing periods

Subscriptions are billed monthly or yearly, as chosen at checkout. The billing period starts on the day the subscription is activated and renews on the same date each month or year until you cancel.

8.2 Automatic renewal

Active subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each period at the then-current price. If you don't want to renew, cancel before the renewal date. A renewal you forgot to cancel isn't refunded, except under section 6 or where mandatory law says otherwise.

8.3 No pro-rata refunds

We don't refund unused parts of a monthly or yearly period. If you cancel mid-period, you keep full access until the end of the period you paid for, and the subscription then ends. The same applies when you move to a cheaper plan.

8.4 How to cancel

Cancel from the billing section of your account settings, or email hi@indexcyborg.com. An emailed cancellation takes effect on the day we receive it, even if we confirm it later, so an email sent before the renewal date stops that renewal.

8.5 Page packs

Page packs are one-time payments: they don't renew and nothing is charged later. Each new page the Service finds on your sites uses one page from your balance, once, as described on the pricing page; unused pages don't expire. Refunds for packs follow the same rules as every other purchase (sections 6, 7 and 9), with the 7-day window counted from that pack's purchase date. If a pack is refunded or charged back, its pages are removed from your balance.

While the Service is in early access, nothing is billed, so there is nothing to refund.

9. How to request a refund

Step 1: contact us

Email hi@indexcyborg.com with your full name, your account email, the order or transaction reference, the purchase date, and a clear description of why you think this policy entitles you to a refund.

Step 2: supporting evidence

Depending on the claim, we may ask for screenshots or recordings of the error, or bank statements showing a duplicate charge. If you don't send what we ask for within 7 business days, we close the request, unless mandatory law gives a longer period.

Step 3: review

We reply with a decision within 5 business days of receiving everything we need. We may check account activity, logs and payment records first.

Step 4: payment

Approved refunds go back to the original payment method within 5 to 10 business days of approval. Your bank or card issuer may take longer, which is outside our control. We email you when the refund is sent.

10. Chargebacks and payment disputes

10.1 Contact us first

Before opening a chargeback or dispute with your bank, card issuer or payment provider, contact us through the process in section 9. We aim to resolve disputes within 5 business days, and almost every issue can be settled without a third party.

10.2 Unilateral chargebacks

If you open a chargeback without contacting us first, or one that is without merit under this policy:

  • we may suspend your account and end access to the Service;
  • we may seek to recover the amount reversed, together with dispute fees and costs;
  • we may report the dispute to payment processors and fraud-prevention networks, as the law allows; and
  • we may take legal action to recover our losses.

10.3 Fraudulent chargebacks

Knowingly filing a chargeback without merit, such as claiming you never received a service you used or disputing a charge you authorised, may be fraud under the law where you live, and we will pursue the remedies available.

11. Refund abuse

We monitor refund requests, chargebacks and account activity. These count as abuse and lead to account suspension, and may lead to legal action or reports to payment processors and, where appropriate, law enforcement:

  • repeated refund requests from the same account, related accounts or the same payment method;
  • a chargeback after using the Service;
  • false or misleading information in a refund request or dispute;
  • creating several accounts to exploit this policy;
  • any other conduct we reasonably consider abuse of the refund process.

Accounts closed for abuse or fraud are not reinstated, and closing them doesn't give rise to a refund.

12. Limitation of liability

A refund granted under this policy is your only financial remedy for the purchase concerned. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for lost traffic, rankings or revenue, and our total liability is limited as set out in Terms, section 13.

13. Governing law and contact

This policy is governed by the laws of Italy, where IndexCyborg operates. If you are a consumer, you keep the protection of the mandatory laws of the country where you live. If something goes wrong, write to hi@indexcyborg.com first; we make a good-faith effort to settle disputes within 10 business days.
